Carrie Meyers

Carrie Meyers serves as the Co-Director of STEM Outreach at the Learning Systems Institute, Florida State University. With close to three decades of experience in education, she works to impact STEM learning and create innovative educational programs.

Throughout her career, Carrie has worked extensively with K-20 students, authored and edited K-12 STEM curricula, and written two student math books. Her expertise in creating research-based professional development for teachers focuses on workforce development, STEM integration, coding, and the use of 3D printing to enhance curriculum.

Carrie manages a team that develops K-12 E-learning tutorials and resources featured on CPALMS. Additionally, she actively contributes to international projects, building capacity in STEM education and the implementation of standards in education systems in countries such as Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, and Nigeria. She is working towards new computer-based innovations in Pre-K-2 mathematics assessments that will allow for immediate teacher feedback to make instructional changes to differentiate learning.

Carrie has designed and conducted several afterschool programs each designed to enhance STEM engagement and purpose while mitigating the limitations of the conventional school day. These programs cover a wide array of STEM topics, including nanotechnology, semiconductors, and agriculture STEM integrated with coding concepts. Through these initiatives, she has created enriching opportunities for students to explore and develop their interests in STEM fields, equipping them with the skills needed for the future workforce.

Carrie is co-leading FSU's educational outreach for InSPIRE, which aims to spark economic opportunity and workforce development in Northwest Florida by increasing teacher knowledge and pedagogy in cutting-edge STEM fields, including new technologies like AI and machine learning.

Carrie's main goal is to further her belief in the transformative power of STEM integration. She continues to drive change and innovation, preparing teachers to create paths for students to explore for STEM career and linking education to local industry and economic needs.
