OUR MISSION
We are dedicated to fostering innovation and advancing research that drives economic growth and serves community needs. We are forging strategic partnerships that bridge the gap between academia and industry, particularly in the fields of high-speed aerodynamics, advanced manufacturing, and future technology.
With a generational impact in mind, we leverage FSU’s expertise and resources to promote economic development and expand opportunities for businesses and students alike. The InSPIRE initiative is a testament to FSU’s commitment to the entirety of Northwest Florida and its surrounding regions.
InSPIRE is committed to:
- Delivering leading-edge educational support to Northwest Florida educators to significantly boost our regional workforce capacity with industry-informed initiatives.
- Engaging in STEM outreach activities to inspire and educate the next generation of innovators and leaders.
- Building state-of-the-art facilities for high-speed aerodynamics and advanced manufacturing near the Northwest Florida Beaches Airport in Bay County.
- Securing significant contract and grant activity to support the diversification of the regional economy.
WHAT WE DO
EDUCATE
InSPIRE serves the needs of Northwest Florida and will have a generational impact by providing STEM outreach to inspire and strengthen our local talent; increasing the number of engineering graduates from FSU Panama City; and attracting high-skill, high-wage employment opportunities for decades to come. Our comprehensive workforce training and education programs are tailored for the aerospace, defense, marine, and manufacturing sectors to better serve the companies that are operating within and attracted to our region.
INNOVATE
InSPIRE is designing state-of-the-art advanced manufacturing facilities for applied research and product development at scales that are crucial for industry. Our vision is to build a world-class applied research center that will redefine what's possible when academia and industry unite. This facility will be the crucible where the next generation of high-tech innovation is forged.
RESEARCH
InSPIRE aims to anchor novel research and development projects in the region, with a key emphasis on advanced manufacturing, aerospace, and defense technology. These initiatives, ranging from new product proof of concept to prototype demonstration in an operational environment, will amplify the region's industrial prowess, reinforce our military bases, and drive the emergence of new industrial sectors. InSPIRE's efforts will also help fortify national security and strengthen the U.S.'s position as a leader in defense systems and advanced manufacturing.

Boilerplate
The Institute for Strategic Partnerships, Innovation, Research, and Education (InSPIRE) is accelerating breakthroughs in aerospace and advanced manufacturing. At the core of this effort are dedicated partners working together to establish Northwest Florida as a national center of innovation, driving regional economic growth. InSPIRE is leading comprehensive workforce development initiatives for K-12 educators along the Gulf Coast of Florida to build the skilled talent that will support the region’s industrial growth. Advanced manufacturing facilities are in development for end-to-end production, aero-testing and immersive training in STEM. Local, regional, and national partners are embedding employees at InSPIRE, collaborating with researchers, FSU faculty, and business leaders to develop and productionize aerospace, defense, and energy solutions, while offering hands-on learning to students and aspiring engineers in Northwest Florida. FSU InSPIRE launched with an initial grant from Triumph Gulf Coast.
