ROBO101: INTRODUCTION TO ROBOTICS IN THE CLASSROOM
Modernizing Professional Learning Experiences
Participants will build a strong foundation in robotics through engaging, hands-on, inquiry-based activities that help deepen their understanding of fundamental robotics and pre-engineering concepts including simple machines, pneumatics, hydraulics, etc. Computational thinking and block-based coding will be implemented across all subject areas. ROBO 101 will also offer the opportunity to collaborate with industry and education experts to ensure students are prepared for the evolving workforce.
Classroom-ready resources and methodologies are designed to foster critical thinking and creativity across subject areas. Standards-based curriculum is created in collaboration with Mantis Edu and Sciberus ensuring alignment with academic and industry expectations. Teachers learn to apply robotics and engineering design to elevate student learning.
Participants will earn a 35-hour joint certification in Robotics Foundations from Mantis Edu, Sciberus, and FSU upon successful completion of the program. A stipend will be awarded to participants who pass the industry certifications and complete the program requirements.

Teachers from the eight counties of Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, Bay, Gulf, Franklin, and Wakulla are welcome to engage in hands-on, K-12 professional learning experiences, collaborate with FSU faculty and industry experts, co-design standards-aligned, classroom-ready curriculum with artificial intelligence, earn industry-recognized certifications, receive a 35-hour professional learning certificate, and earn a $700 stipend upon successful completion.
